My first fish, Long Beach New York

I am continually told that in today’s competitive market place a photographer needs to post some sort of photography blog on a regular basis. Not just any blog but a blog with keywords that match user search criteria like New York Photographers, Long Island Photographer, fashion photographer, new york portrait photographer, etc..it should be very intentional and well thought out. It should also include back links and relevant content. There are rules and a whole list of do’s and dont’s. If your one of the lucky ones you get to hire someone to do it for you. By blogging you not only gain popularity and get to show off your skills it helps increase your ratings with the search engines. In the end this could and should equate to new and recurring clients. I however never did, until now. I think part of the reason I never did was I am always too afraid of exposing myself, afraid of judgment. In addition, not only do I consider myself a low key guy with a touch of social anxiety disorder (self diagnosed of course) but I happen to be my own worst critic and also feel being a blog poster or ‘blogger’ is just not me. Then I thought, screw it, who cares! There is a first time for everything, right? Just join the masses for once. Maybe it will help motivate me, maybe it will help me to become a better photographer and to push my boundaries a little. I found myself with quite an interesting challenge however, what to write about in my first blog post?

In the end after much deliberation and a lot of research I came up with well,…. nothing. You see, all this being said all I really want to do is share the things I do and make people happy. So, this is it, my first blog post. I hope you like it and if you don’t….who cares!
